All That Misc. Stuff

Another post of links and such.

First, I was interviewed on Lisa Godfrees' blog. We get a little theological as she asks me about how my faith bleeds into my writing.

Second, Keven Newsome kidnapped one of my posts about writing and publishing your second book. The Terror of the Second Tower Ride is my whacked-out Disney analogy.

Third, the first digest of Avenir Eclectia is out in print! (ebook coming soon)

If you don't know what Avenir Eclectia is, click here to check it out. It's an online magazine with microfiction stories by a multitude of authors (including ME). All the stories take place in the same sci-fi story world. There is some great stuff in here, trust me. And it's only $5.98!!

Monday "Me"

I wish on this Monday-ish of mornings I had something profound to write here. But, alas, I am going to just catch you up on things.

My short story "Cat Call" (flash fiction weighing in at a whopping 490 words) has been accepted by Pill Hill Press for their upcoming anthology, There Was a Crooked House. Stories had to either be about a crooked house or be inspired by the cover art:

I opted for the cover art inspiration route. That's all I will say for now. Oh, and, no, I don't know a release date yet.

I do, however, know that my story in Chicken Soup: Just for Preteens will come out on July 26.

Since we're on the subject of short stories, please go check out Avenir Eclectia. I've got several stories up there, and more to come. It's sci-fi, and the stories are all very short. If you like the world created over there, try writing something yourself and submit it! And please "follow" :D.

Lastly, I've added to my Zazzle store. Yep, if you didn't already know, you can buy some of my artwork on t-shirts and such. Right now it's just my odd assortment of beetles. (Or, rather, my assortment of odd beetles!) The latest design was inspired by my recent obsession with Dr. Who.

That's all for now. (What, that's not enough?)

I'm Elsewhere Today

My latest post is up on the New Author's Fellowship. It's my Perspective on Submissions Rejections.

Click HERE to read all my posts on NAF if you haven't been keeping up over there.

And I've got the latest featured story on Avenir Eclectia. Wanna find out what a bug hunter does on a barely habitable planet? Read "The Trade."

I've got another story up over there as well, and several more to come in the near future. You can keep up with my stories by clicking on that little box to the right--the one with the space station that says Avenir Eclectia.

That's it for today. Just telling you where to find me right now!

Super Secret Project Revealed

I've posted a couple of times on here about being involved in a secret project. Maybe I didn't use the words "secret project" but I DID say I was working on something I couldn't talk about. Well, here it is:

No, not the image. The site that goes with the image :). Avenir Eclectia is a new project by Splashdown Books. An online zine of sorts, but not open to just any old speculative fiction story. First of all, it's mainly sci-fi (although a bit of genre-jumping is allowed). Second, and more importantly, it is set in a predetermined world, with predetermined types of characters.

All the information about the story world of Avenir Eclectia can be found HERE. A full description of the planet, space station, and underwater area are all there. As are guidelines about culture, character types, and even some specific characters to get you started.

Submissions are open. Visit the SITE and click on "Join Us" for detailed info about story length and the email to send your submissions to.

Oh, and don't forget--follow the blog so you don't miss any of the stories I've written, and am writing, for Avenir Eclectia!
